2.2. Biometric Data (Face ID)

If you enable Face ID protection, the authentication process is handled entirely by the iOS system (LocalAuthentication framework). We do not have access to your raw biometric data (face data), only the confirmation of whether authentication was successful.

2.3. Third-Party Services & Data Sharing

To provide specific features, the app interacts with the following third-party services. These interactions involve ephemeral data transfer:

• Google Gemini AI (Generative AI):
  • Usage: When you use the "AI Search" or "Summarize" features.
  • Data Shared: The text prompt you enter and/or the content of the web page you are viewing.
  • Privacy: Data sent to Google's API is used solely for generating the response and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We do not retain this data.
• Apple WeatherKit:
  • Usage: To display local weather conditions on the home screen.
  • Data Shared: Your approximate location (latitude and longitude).
  • Privacy: This data is processed by Apple in accordance with their privacy standards.
• RSS Feeds (News):
  • Usage: To display news headlines.
  • Data Shared: Your device fetches data directly from public RSS feed URLs (e.g., BBC, Reuters). Your IP address may be visible to these news providers as a standard web request.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

All payments are processed securely by Apple via the App Store (StoreKit).

• Payment Information: We do not collect or store your credit card numbers or billing details.
• Subscription Status: We verify your subscription status (Pro vs. Free) using an anonymous receipt token provided by Apple.

4. Permissions

The app may request the following permissions only when necessary:

• Camera: To scan QR codes or capture images for web uploads.
• Photo Library: To save downloaded images/videos or scanned documents.
• Microphone: For voice search functionality.
• Face ID: To lock/unlock the application.

5. Children’s Privacy

Infoseek is rated 17+ on the App Store due to its ability to access the unrestricted internet. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
